MINISTRY: USHER
Our hearts rejoice and we are much encouraged that those who had
started with this ministry from the beginning are continuing their
faithful service unto the Lord. As we continue serving the Lord
together we pray that we will be more focused, keep the good work
going and be also sensitive to lend a listening ear or a helping
hand when there is a need.
Consistently, we have been raising new leaders to assist in the
department. One of their roles is to help oversee the smooth running
of the department and also provide support to the ushers in their
respective team. As we wait in expectation for the Lord to add to
the church, one of our responsibilities is to equip and train the
ushers to take up position when the time arises.
We do encounter many challenges within and without the ministry. We
learned that what really matters is not the issue but rather the
approach we take that reflects the love of Jesus as we handle every
situation. Ultimately it is the leader’s desire to see that every
member in the team grows in maturity in the LORD and is a blessing
to every one who walks into the auditorium every Sunday.
Every Sunday the team which is on duty for the particular day will
meet together for a time of prayer and briefing with us, leaders
before we proceed to our respective positions. This meet-up helps us
to recognize our roles and responsibilities as we prepare ourselves
for the work by committing the day to the Lord. We encourage and
spur one another to present our best for His glory.
Though we meet
up together for work on Sundays, we also believe a time of
fellowship is important. In the month of August we had a lunch
get-together on one of the Public Holidays. In this light
atmosphere, we had a blessed time together as a family in the LORD
together with our Senior Pastor and family. Most of all, we were
encouraged by our Pastor’s words of encouragement and exhortation
as he shared and stirred us up with love to good works.
